Sure, I think ending are a great time to reflect and thank the Lord for His provisions—and that I do—but what has really ended?
God permitting, the sun will still rise in the same fashion that it always does. Given that it’s really just a calendar system, the New Year will feel how we allow it to. I’ve been reading all kinds of people saying things about how 2010 was so great, how could 2011 live up to it? They almost seemed to be filled with sorrow.
I’m not sad that 2010 is over, though.
I’m excited.
But before you just to any rash conclusions, please allow me to explain. 2010 was a pretty great year. It was filled with more memories (and photos!) than I can count. Just for fun, here’s a brief recap of my year:
Won a photography contest.
Went to California.
Went to Chicago. Twice.
Struggled with my college decision.
Made my college decision.
Graduated high school.
Spent over three weeks all across the UK.
Served as a camp counselor for seven amazing girls.
Moved to California.
Started college.
Had endless adventures and made amazing new friends.
Sounds like a pretty great year, doesn’t it? It really was. Granted, there was hardship. There was hurt, confusion, and stress. But, at the end of the day, God is still God. And God is good. Now, this leads me to why I’m excited. Sure, I had experiences in 2010 that I couldn’t have dreamed up. But—just like I said in my video—my story is just beginning. God has more in store for me than I could ever imagine. And quite frankly, I can’t wait to see what that is.
